InReach

How would it be if we could transform the old-fashioned shop into a discover experience that you cannot create on the Internet. For this purpose, an app has been designed that supports the shopping experience. The app is personalised to the user's state of mind so that new products in the app are personalised to the user's mood. In this way new products are spontaneously suggested while the user is walking through the shop.

How does InReach work?

How do you feel?

When entering the shop, the user fills in how he/she feels. Based on this information, your products are recommended while shopping.

Through the placement of the products in the interface, you know what is in your vicinity. Your position within the shop determines what you will see and what you will be advised. You can also see extra information and reviews from fellow users for each product.

The navigation.

The emotion is depicted as much as possible by the use of colours in the navigation. The colours and emotions linked to the products are based on the "Geneva Emotion Wheel".

We chose to visualise this with a "bubble UI", where the biggest bubbles are the products that are the closest to you and most relevant to your emotion. The smaller bubbles are the products that are further away from you.

Prototype of the new supermarket journey.

To test the concept of Inreach, a classroom was converted into a 'mini supermarket'.
